Roger Manvell
Roger has 19 years of coaching experience both in the U.K. and abroad.
He is qualified to L.T.A. Club Coach, and USPTR, gaining most of his experience
in top London clubs and working in Portugal with Great Britain's Davis
Cup Captain, Roger Taylor. Roger started his playing career as a junior
at the Avenue, later returning as resident Club Coach three years ago.
He has developed both junior and adult squads, which have proved to be
extremely popular and together with his individual coaching, is successful
in raising the standard of play whilst helping to increase club membership.
In his spare time he helps Tracy to produce our next Wimbledon champs!!

Tracy Manvell
Tracy has reached a high standard in playing both squash and tennis, with
a resulting career in coaching. At tennis she is qualified to L.T.A. Development
Coach Award and has held numerous titles including Hampshire Junior Singles
Champion and Hants Senior Doubles Champion. Tracy is one of a few players
to represent Hampshire at both tennis and squash.

Sue Brightman
Sue moved to Portsmouth from Stevenage, Hertfordshire. She has been coaching
short tennis for 16 years, at Stevenage Tennis Club and the Gosling Tennis
Centre in Welwyn Garden City. She coached her son and daughter with short
tennis and both have now reached a high standard; national and regional
respectively. She is a regular member of the Stevenage Ladies 1st team
and from 1996-2001, the Gosling Ladies 1st team.

Paul Evans
Paul first qualified in 1994 and since then he has broadened his experience
by working in a range of
tennis centres in the south. He is now a fully licenced CCA coach and
we are pleased to include him as part of our Academy.

Laura McKenna
Laura has recently graduated from the University of Greenwich with a first
class honours degree in Sports Science linked with a 3 year tennis coaching
course with the PTR (Professional tennis Registry). She has represented
Hampshire at both junior and senior levels and is a great asset to our
Academy.

Ed Percival
Ed has been a member of our Junior Academy for the past 5 years. His game
has developed rapidly and is now playing tennis full time with an active
tournament schedule. Now studying to become a fully qualified teaching
professional Ed is available for private lessons. You can find Ed assisting
with our Junior group coaching or in the pro shop where he re-strings
rackets.
Tennis Assistants
We are very lucky to have a number of talented and enthusiastic juniors
at the club who have joined the team to develop their skills and help
us run the tennis programmes and the Pro Shop. They continue to grow with
us and we are very grateful for their help.
